Jack’s Point is a wide sweater made with a compact dk (8 ply) yarn, held together with a mohair lace-weight yarn, to create a soft, luxurious fabric with lots of drape.
It is worked from the bottom up and seamed only at the shoulders. Stiches are picked up to form the band of the neck. The sleeves are worked top-down by picking up stiches and using short rows. If you’ve never tried short rows before, they are a great option to avoid seaming sleeves. Links are provided for those new to short rows.
The hem has side-splits and is lower at the back. The sleeves are bracelet length, but are easily adjustable in length. A slip stich ribbing is used for the bands.
The pattern is named after the settlement underneath the Remarkables mountain range.
